Wherefore Art Thou, Meat Filled Pastry?

Today we shopped like locals - and tonight made homemade Empanada's. Thankfully, almost every country has developed a meat filled pastry, otherwise our kids would starve. Argentina is also a pizza-crazed country, except they garnish with a lot of green olives (and anchovies – yum)!

Tomorrow we begin school (a day ahead of D181!). Ben (Mom and Dad too) start reading Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night', and everyone will do math and a little Rosetta Stone (the girls in Spanish and Ben is trying Swedish). Izzy starts 'The Alchemist' and Maddy 'The Book Thief'. Maddy is signed up for a Stanford math course online.

I just hope our kid's test scores don't go down too far this semester! ;D

Our kids "holiday" break has been extended yet another day due to harsh weather conditions - we have had wind chills of -45 the past couple of days. Looks like the Wychockis are well ahead of Hinsdale's school schedule. Enjoy!

Those look mighty tasty - may have to collaborate with you next time we're in Hinsdale!
